This is pulpy not so intense 90s thriller. Great bad guy in John Malkovich, who is a bananas ex-military dude that
wants to assassinate the president. Clint Eastwood plays an old grumpy but warm Secret Service agent that missed the opportunity to save JFK. Rene Russo is also in this, and plays a solid supporting actor without overplyaing it. Everyone else is basically fine but forgettable. This is a good dumb rewatchable background movie for me, ever since seeing it in college.
